ABOUT THE ARBORS

The Arbors is a unique gated community of 190 single-family homes, developed by six different builders.  The first homes were completed in 1996, and the newest in 2001.  Our homes range in size from 1600 to over 3500 square feet, and each meets strict design criteria established when the community was developed. These design restrictions continue to be maintained.

The majority of our homes are adjacent to preserve, wetland areas or lakes. Builders were careful to maintain as much of the natural landscaping as possible.  Our community also observes 15-foot side setbacks on each property, exceeding the 10-foot county requirement.

The thoughtful design criteria, multiple builders, larger setbacks, oak tree canopy, natural landscaping and surrounding preserves, wetlands and lakes combine to make The Arbors the uniquely private and beautiful community we call home.

Virtually all homes have a lakefront, wetlands or upland preserve easements recorded with county agencies and/or the South Florida Water Management District. There are approximately 60 acres of uplands and 30 acres of wetlands.

The Arbors is habitat for several animals with special protections like the Gopher Tortoise, Scrub Jay, Pine Snake and Indigo Snake. Our Black Racer and Florida Brown snakes are quick-moving and harmless.

Additionally, The Arbors is periodically home to Ospreys, Bald Eagles, Otters, Raccoons, Bobcats, Coyotes, Foxes, Wild Pigs, Deer and a variety of migratory birds including waterfowl and Hummingbirds.
